When Emma Warren of HiHo Silver reached out and asked if I would like to stay at Dimpsey Glamping after the HiHo & Co day, I was blown away. Not only was it the kindest gesture from her, but I was so excited as I had been following Dimpsey for a while now and it is so up my street as a little getaway.
I normally travel solo on most of my work trips and I have to admit to being someone that quite likes peace and quiet and a little tranquilty, rather than hotel stays bustling with people.
As I drew into Dimpsey I knew this was exactly what I was going to experience and I have to admit to letting out a little squeal of delight as I saw the twinkling lights for the hot tub barn and the amazing outdoor space including pizza oven that surrounds the Shepherds Hut. This really is your own little private hideaway.

Not to be outdone by the outdoor space the Shepherds Hut is styled to perfection, Emma and Andrew (Mr & Mrs Dimpsey) have thought of everything to make your stay amazing and truly memorable. As I walked into the hut I was greeted by the sound of relaxing music playing in the background, this was to set the tone for the rest of my stay.
Being February and a real chill to the air outside, my first port of call was the wood burner. It was all ready for me to just add a match to and within minutes the Shepherds Hut was a lovely cosy space, ready for me to enjoy some rest and relaxation. And perhaps a cheeky wee hot chocolate from the hot chocolate corner… yes really!! They have simply thought of everything!
I am a real country girl with a body clock programmed for first light, but let me tell you Dimpsey waved some kind of magic wand and each morning I woke after first light and was quite happy to snuggle down under the covers and just enjoy the tranquility of Dimpsey.

This really is a spot where you could loose yourself for a few days, I was actually quite sad that my days had already been planned out and I had such a hectic schedule. I would have quite happily sat outside soaking up the winter sun, wrapped in a blanket and reading a book whilst enjoying the sounds of nature and the blackdown hill views. Not to mention enjoying a long soak in the wood fired hot tub.
I really can’t recommend Dimpsey enough, whether you want to get a couple of days away by yourself for some R&R or fancy a lovely romantic break with your other half. Emma and Andrew have created the most beautiful retreat that is truly unique and I can’t wait to plan a return visit when I can just relax and enjoy the Dimpsey experience.
