What’s in the welcome pack?
The welcome pack will have everything you need to make sure that your get away and stay is as enjoyable as possible. It will include the nitty gritty things like maps and useful numbers to the little extras that make your stay in the Dimpsey hut unique, relaxing and enjoyable.
Arrival and departure times
The hut will be ready and waiting for you to arrive any time after 3pm.
We understand that there is nothing worse than rushing around when you have to leave early so you don’t have to “check out” until 12 noon on the day of departure.
What’s in the Dimpsey Hut?
We want staying in the hut to feel like a luxury hotel, so we’ve tried to go the extra mile to make it really comfortable for you, ensuring that all the styling is from British designers and adding in extra little treats to delight you.
The hut is 18 feet long and contains a double bed, seating, kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and flushing toilet.
Dimpsey Slumber Space
In our opinion, there’s nothing worse than having to make a bed every day, so our double bed pulls down out of the wall fully made with luxury British bed linen and a vintage eiderdown. You can either leave it down and use the sofa bench seat to lounge on during the day…or tuck it away again when you’re ready.
The hut has a hand-built oak table and bench seats to seat up to 4-6 people. There is also the sofa area to make for comfy magazine reading. All dressed with lovely sheepskins for your comfort. We also have tea lights and fairy lights for you to create your own ambience,
We have a gas hob, fridge and small belfast sink within the hut – and we supply a starter pack of oils, vinegars, sauces and basic spices, tea and coffees. Outside the hut we have a Firepit you can cook on, and a garden oven as well as an outdoor wwashing-up area with hot and cold taps. All essential utensils and crockery are provided – there’s a list in the Welcome Pack.
We can also provide meals upon request and have also provided Eating Out recommendations on the site.
There’s nothing better than a real fire so inside the Dimpsey hut there is a wood burning stove with a constant supply of wood to keep you toasty and warm – we don’t charge extra for this – it’s included in the price.
Outside the Dimpsey shepherd’s hut, we have a wood-fired hot-tub for your exclusive use – perfect for soaking in whilst gazing up at the stars…
Dimpsey Shower Space
There is a lovely bathroom hidden away behind the double doors at the end of the hut. We will provide all of the towels, hair dryer and a starter selection of luxury shower treats. There’s plenty of room in the shower and there is also a granite washbasin and flushing toilet (no compost loos).
We’ve tried to think of some extra bits and pieces that will be useful, like a lovely little flask and enamel mugs to take with you, as well as a local map, if you go walking, We also have a vintage picnic basket – for which we can provide sandwiches and treats for if you let us know in advance.
We style the hut with things that we have selected for the website, so the contents so change. We do this so that you have lovely and unique items to enjoy while you’re here – and we can also say, hand-on-heart that we don’t sell anything that we don’t use ourselves. If you do fall in love with something, let us know as we can source you similar items. For information regarding the designers please go to our designers page.
What do you need to bring?
The most important thing that you need to bring is yourselves, more information on what to bring will be in the welcome pack.
The Dimpsey Welcome Tea Tray
The Dimpsey welcome tea tray is made up of local treasures and no matter whether you are a serious chocolate lover or a coffee enthusiast we will have a little bit of heaven for everyone – there’s nothing better than a cuppa when you arrive!
